General entry requirements for Serbia
  1. Valid passport/travel document;
  2. Valid visa in the passport, if a Serbian visa is required for passport holders of the respective country;
  3. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia. Sufficient funds are considered to be 50 Euros per day of stay, proved by possession of the appropriate amount of cash, bank statement, traveller's cheques, credit cards or a letter of guarantee;
  4. Certificate of vaccination or a note that he/she has not contracted a contagious disease despite coming from an area affected by a pandemic, as defined by the information of the Ministry of Health.
  5. If underage children are travelling with one of their parents, it is necessary to submit a relevant certified authorization by the other parent; or if the child is travelling with a third person such authorization is required from both parents or guardian;
  6. It is recommended to have a health insurance for the period of stay in Serbia, covering possible medical costs to the amount of not less than 20,000 Euros.

General visa requirements:

  1. Valid passport (passport must be valid at least 90 days from issue date of visa)
  2. Letter of invitation:
    • for a private visit  invitation letter certifed by the relevant authority of the Republic of Serbia
    • for a business visit  invitation letter by a company in Serbia;
    • for a tourist trip – a proof of payment for the trip issued by a travel agency (voucher or other type of payment receipt);
  3. Completed visa application form: (PDF) ;
  4. Photo (size 3.5x4.5cm);
  5. Return ticket or Itinerary (copy of Driving License and Insurance if you travel by car);
  6. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia;
  7. Health insurance
  8. Visa fee.

For the issuance of a transit visa, you should have an entry visa for the country you are entering after the Republic of Serbia. In case a visa is not required for that country, you will be asked to present other documents explainning the purpose of your visit there.

Diplomatic-consular mission of the Republic of Serbia reserves the right to request additional documentation. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Travel with a Pet

 

• DOGS, CATS AND FERRETS

ENTRY
For importing dogs, cats and ferrets into the country, the following conditions must be met:

  1. that pets have been permanently identified in the prescribed way;
  2. that pets are accompanied by a passport issued by the competent/authorized veterinarian of specific country, confirming that:
    (1) the pet has been vaccinated or revaccinated against rabies by using registered inactivated vaccine containing minimum one antigen unit per dose (WHO standard) and performed according to instruction of the vaccine manufacturer, in case of a pet aged over three months;
    (2) that 21 days have passed since the vaccination, in case of the first vaccination against rabies;
    (3) that the pet remained at the same location since birth, and was not in contact with wild animals which could have been exposed to infection or it is moving together with and depending on its mother, in case of pets aged less than three months and not yet vaccinated.

EXIT
In case of exportation of cats and dogs from the Republic of Serbia, the following preconditions must be met:
 

  1. that pets have been permanently identified in accordance with specific regulation on animal identification;
  2. that pets are accompanied by a certificate issued by the competent authority and a passport issued by the authorized veterinarian, confirming that:
    (1) the pet has been vaccinated or revaccinated against rabies by using registered inactivated vaccine containing minimum one antigen unit per dose (WHO standard) and performed according to instruction of the vaccine manufacturer, in case of animal pet aged over three months,
    (2) that the pet had undergone testing of blood serum for titer of specific neutralizing antibodies against rabies virus, with the threshold titer of at least 0,5 IU/ml , in laboratory authorized by the European Union. The testing must be done at least 30 days after the vaccination and three months before exportation, however, testing of the blood serum should not be repeated in case of animals which have been regularly re-vaccinated after the last titration in intervals as determined in the instruction of the vaccine manufacturer.

Pets under three months old cannot be exported until they reach the age to be vaccinated, also if after vaccination they were not subjected to testing of blood serum for titer of specific neutralizing antibodies against rabies virus, unless the competent authority specifies otherwise.

• OTHER ANIMALS:

­ INVERTEBRATES (with the exception of bees and crustaceans),
­ ORNAMENTAL TROPICAL FISH,
­ AMPHIBIANS,
­ BIRDS (with the exception of poultry),
­ REPTILES AND
­ MAMMALS (RODENTS AND DOMESTIC RABBITS)

For non-commercial movement of listed animals, it is necessary that the pets are accompanied by a certificate confirming that all veterinary-sanitary conditions/requirements for their non-commercial movement have been fulfilled.
